Top 10 Books On Analytics: 2006

The purpose of this post is to share the top 10 Books on Analytics which were originally published in 2006.  A few highlights before we dive in:
  1. This was the year that analytics and fact-based decision making "went mainstream" when the Harvard Business School dedicated a complete issue to the role of analytics in Business
  2. The headline article in that edition was "Competing on Analytics" by Thomas Davenport.  The book went on to become the best-selling reprint of 2006 and was parlayed the book Competing on Analytics.
  3. Analytics has only gotten hotter and more fast paced since then with innovation new technology and better ways to handle:
    1. Business Intelligence
    2. Predictive Analytics
    3. Text Analytics
    4. Recommendation Engines like Amazon Netflix Etc
    5. Data Management and Information Management as Precondition to good analysis, and finally
    6. The automation and outsourcing of analytics via business process outsourcing (BPO)
